The Journey Begins

I haven't really had time to post anything lately--and there's been a lot going on in sports, politics, and my life, when I've had time for one that is!

I leave for Los Angeles tomorrow and then on to India in a couple of weeks. I think part of the reason for my not writing is that I'm so overwhelmed I don't quite know what to say--and in part because I've been working 10-12 hour days for the past week and a half so I've been to exhausted to write!

When I close my eyes and see myself on my journey--and my return--I see myself in a chuni (the traditional flowing scarf worn by Western Sikh women). Now this is definitely strange for me because I don't wear one now; never have; and thought I never would. I barely wear a turban anymore. But nevertheless, every time I close my eyes, that's the image I'm met with. So my subtle body is already working on my soul and my spirit and my projection. One of my mentors here in the community says he's excited to see me return from India--what were his words exactly? Demure, graceful, and noncombative! (Not exactly the words that come to mind for those of you who know me well--ha!) I told him not to expect too much, but along with Barack, he's keeping hope alive. Smile.

I won't have access to a computer while I'm away. . . .so consider this a formal hiatus. And I'll report back in March.

Until then,
May the sweetness
that is this breath and this one
comfort you
and fill you
with every good thing

May the warmth of spring
delight your skin
and your bones
and may the blossoming
of the flowers and the
blooming of the trees
mirror your own
rebirth

May love fill you up
May you be the overflowing
cup of goodness that is God

Sat Nam.

Sat Shri Akal!

You will come back differently, no doubt. Let go of everything, but live every moment with all your attention. It will be wonderful!
Have a safe journey!
God will bless you.
